Event Overview

Learn how to make a concrete leaf casting from a burdock, hosta, rhubarb or any other leaf of your choice. This leaf will be an interesting addition to your garden or home.

We will discuss a bit about materials and concrete mixture, but in 2 hours we will primarily focus on the actual sculpture process of building a sand base under the leaf, and then applying the concrete to the leaf. The leaf must dry overnight and then they can be picked up any time the following week and your convenience. There is no need for any prior art or sculpture experience. You can bring a fresh leaf of your choice, but I will supply some leaves.

This class will be a hands on (with gloves, supplied) experience of molding and sculpting with sand and a wet concrete mixture. You will be preserving the beauty of one leaf for all of posterity!
