Event Overview
Learn the basics of the vector-based Adobe Illustrator Program. Whether you are interested in making a logo, a brochure, or a screen-print design working with vectors is the easiest way to create scalable art. Beginners are welcome! This is an Intro-level class where we will cover the basic functions and abilities of Adobe Illustrator and we'll make sure to give you some tips and tricks for faster work flow.
Topics include:
- Creating Shapes and Outlines
- Rotating and duplicating objects
- Grouping and stacking
- Erasing and painting selected paths
- Using the Shape Builder tool
- Reflecting across an angled axis
- Simulating beveled edges
- Placing and flowing text
- Creating page margins
- Adjusting type size
- Inserting and removing anchor points
The class will be held with a group up to 10 students. We will be working off a Mac laptop hooked up to a projector. Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops so that they can follow along. If you do not have a computer with Illustrator we will NOT be able to provide one.

Course was informative. Instructor is very knowledgable. However the session lacked a defined curriculum. Therefore it resulted in a feature demonstration opposed to a how-to for beginners.

Great class, very efficient use of Time. Great explanations of the different Toolbars, uses, and also keyboard shortcut keys. Extremely helpful to learn how to use the grid tool to make key guides.

Christopher was very knowledgable of the software and very helpful at explaining the various tools and how they are used.. This class is good for beginners as well as people who are somewhat familiar with the software but want to learn more tricks and shortcuts (like myself).

Even though I was using a Windows Laptop I was able to follow along.
Great examples on how you use Illustrator, then great teachings on how to achieve some of those examples. Clear explanation followed with good hands on instructions, and thank you for allowing everybody to ask questions and for having patience with the class.
