Inspiration Cards: Creatively Unblocking
TOP RATED
Arts & DIY
What do William Burroughs, Brian Eno and David Bowie have in common? They have all developed strategies to introduce unexpected elements into their work. Unpredictable input becomes inspiration, side-stepping any creative blocks the artist might have....
Instructor Dean Johnson uses a similar technique he calls Inspiration Cards. With his deck of custom-made cards, he constantly generates new combinations of inspiring elements. The artistic goals he is given are always a surprise!
In this workshop, students will experiment with Dean's deck. We will then spend time making our own Inspiration Cards. Everything you need is provided. Students will practice working from their own decks, and we will take our decks home for future use.
