Simple Printing: For Book Covers and More
TOP RATED
Arts & DIY
This workshop serves as an introduction to a few fun and simple printmaking techniques that are useful for making covers for zines, chapbooks, broadsides, art books, and more. We will focus on xerox transfers, hot foil stamping, and linoleum stamps.
Xerox transfer is a process that lifts toner from a regular photocopy or laser print, and transfers it to a new sheet of paper. It has a unique aesthetic and uses simple every day materials.
Hot foil stamping uses heat to transfer metallic foil to a solid surface using hand-set metal type and a press. Students will walk away with a variety of images printed or transferred onto quality papers, suitable for book covers or stand alone pieces of art.
