Event Overview

Nothing tastes quite as good as a slice of homemade bread warm from the oven, but yeast breads can be intimidating and time-intensive—so try a quick bread instead! Quick breads, like banana bread or zucchini bread, are simple to make (no mixer required!) and a great place to start if you’re new to the world of baking. Quick breads are also a delicious and impressive addition to a holiday dinner table!

In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to make a basic quick bread recipe and how to customize flavors to make sweet or savory variations. Participants will get to take home the bread they’ve made in class, and of course we’ll have fresh, warm bread for sampling at the end of class!

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Learning together in the garden, and kitchen, does much more than put fresh, nutritious food on the table. It helps build stronger communities, connect us to cultural heritage, improve public health and create a more sustainable, resilient city. Peterson Garden Project is a not-for-profit organization, and we're looking to inspire everyone we meet to grow and cook their own food and build community. If you love the taste of a homegrown tomato, are curious about growing food yourself, or are looking for a place to learn basic home cooking skills and make new friends over delicious food— then we're looking for you!
