  This class was very fun and informative! We learned how to cut our own wine bottle, turn it into a candle holder and pour our preferred scent into it. Having the ability to learn about the entire candle-making process was also pretty neat.

  We had so much fun with this class! Lots of opportunities to ask questions and customize your project. The class was very hands-on and I left feeling like I really understood how to upcycle bottles and make them into candles. Would recommend!

  I chose this dabble because of the candle making (my wife loves candles) and the bottle cutting (I wanted to learn) -- the people there were incredibly kind and thoughtful, and took the time to teach you to cut without fancy equipment, instead showing us how to cut bottles using cheap tools from amazon. I appreciated them so much, and definitely will be taking another dabble based on this experience.

  Excellent class and tons of fun. Very hands on and the option to ask questions regarding the wine cutting / candle making process. The location was a little difficult to find but the teachers were very responsive and email you directions beforehand. They have wine openers, glasses and even a fridge to keep your vino cold. I highly recommend this class!

  My girlfriends and I took Sara and Fernado's class and had a delightful time. We crammed a lot in the class from learning how to etch and cut class, to sanding rough edges, to then pouring our candles and customizing them with scents and color. There were a lot of people in the class, about 20 of us, and Fernando and Sara were patient with all of us, giving us 1 on 1 help and aiding us along the way so that we got exactly what we were looking for. I love my candle and am excited to try to test everything I learned at home!

  What a fun experience! The instructor is so nice, patient, and encouraging. The studio is in an amazing refurbished warehouse with an amazing view! The options for color and scents were wonderful. I really enjoyed meeting the owners of the Chicago Candle Company and wish them much continued success.

  I can’t recommend this class enough! The instructors were so informative, patient and friendly. Everything from learning to cut the bottle to pouring the candle are demonstrated and clearly explained so you feel like you’ve (nearly) mastered the technique upon conclusion of the class. It was really fun and the candle you make smells SO good! Not only will I recommend this class to anyone interested, I’ll also be a customer of theirs moving forward.

  Amazing experience! My mom and I took this class and walked away with such excitement to try this at home. Fernando is awesome, and you learn everything from cutting the bottle to pouring the wax and scenting it. The scents are AMAZING and I will definitely be a customer as well.   This was a fantastic experience!! I was already familiar with the company but not the people behind it. I loved to hear their story, see the process and have the hands-on opportunity! I went by myself but there was a cute couple on a date...they looked like they had a fantastic time, so keep this in mind if you are trying to figure out something to do!

  My mom and I really enjoyed this class. Fernando was an excellent teacher, very patient and very generous with his time. Fernando explained how to transfer the skills from the class to candle making at home. Our end product is beautiful and smells absolutely amazing. I think this is one of the best smelling candles I've every owned. I highly recommend this class!

  I had an awesome time! My fiancé has been trying his hand at wine bottle cutting, but couldn’t figure out why weren’t coming out clean. Well, thanks to this class, now I know and we are going to take what I learned and put into action.

  The scents you get to choose from are an absolute dream! I couldn’t decide if I wanted to smell it or eat it.

  The teacher was patient, understanding, and attentive - especially because I was part of a smaller class size.

  Definitely take this class. It’s fun, informative/practical, and the studio smells amazing.

  Fernando has such great energy. Enthusiastic, informative, interesting and passionate about not just candles but about meeting new people. I had so much fun there and have already agreed to come back and take the class again with more of my girlfriends! Plus, I LOVE my candle. It has my entire 1st floor of my home smelling and feeling so cozy! Absolutely recommend this class.

  What a great experience! The teacher, Fernando, was very patient and informative. The candle scents are marvelous. We brought our own bottles from home but broke a couple; they had tons available to use, though. The setting was very comfortable and easy to access. We highly recommend it!

  This was my first dabble class. Was originally going to take another candle-making class but that one got canceled, and I'm glad because this one was so much fun. The teacher was patient and laid back, and it was a really enjoyable experience. Their candle scents are very unique and not chemical-smelling at all... Highly recommended!

  I got this class for my sister's birthday and it was great! We learned a lot about making candles and are thrilled with the end product. The instructor gave us tips for doing this at home, and also shared why they do things a certain way over other methods. We were both shocked at how easy it was to break the glass. I've already recommended this class to two other people.

The teacher explained each step, why it needed to happen, and how to go about procuring supplies / materials if the user wanted to repeat the process at home, as well as tips and tricks that the instructor had discovered in his time candle making. Venue was great, instructor was great, material was great, experience was great. Would enthusiastically recommend.

  The wine bottle cutting and candle making class was fantastic! You can tell the Valarde's enjoy working together. I appreciated all the insights they were able to share as we learned to prepare the bottles and make some good smelling candles. Thanks much for a nice evening with a culminating view of the Chicago skyline as our candles set.

  Really enjoyed this class!! Learned so much about cutting different types of bottles, making scents and dying wax. Our instructors from Chicago Candle Co were amazing, and so thorough and patient! I was so impressed with the candles we took home. And I'm also looking forward to supporting this local Chicago company now that I know about them :)

  DIY Soy candles and wine bottle cutting was a blast we went through step by step from picking and cutting a wine glass to making a candle. The owners/teachers were so friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. We had so much fun!
