Come play with cupcakes!! This class will introduce you to two of the most classic types of frosting: buttercream and fondant. We'll work on three lovely designs:

1) the perfect buttercream swirl
2) the breathtaking large fondant rose
3) the adorable buttercream swirl with smaller fondant flower combination

Photos to give you an idea of these designs are at https://pinterest.com/chicagocupcakes/cupcake-decorating.

I'll provide the cupcakes, frosting, fondant, and supplies; you'll learn how to frost with buttercream using a pastry bag and tip, as well as to roll out, cut, and arrange fondant into beautiful flowers.

You will go home with a brand new set of skills, and a cute box of 6 gorgeous cupcakes baked by me and decorated by you! You'll also take home a cupcake decorating set and a flower-shaped fondant cutter so you'll be fully equipped to continue developing your new skills.

Most of all, we will have a lovely evening!

Note: If you would like a cheaper version of this class, with just three cupcakes and in-class-only use of decorating tools, look for the Basic version of this class on the Dabble homepage.

Meg's class was very fun and informative, and I really like that cake decorating is a hobby for her. It was encouraging to know that a regular, non-professional could learn to work with fondant and (with practice, of course) make something that looks great!

I learned a trick with the pastry bag that makes the whole process much much neater. I would share it but I don't want spoil the class for everyone.

I loved it...it was very educational and fun at the same time. Meg was a very patient teacher who showed us with great enthusiasm how to do each step. It is a definite recommendation to go to the class.

Really cute class for a girl's night out. The kitchen that we worked at was fabulous with a large island that we all sat around making it easier to chit-chat with our neighbors. It was a great class! And we got to take home some pastry tools so we can do what we learned at home.

    From Teacher:

Thanks so much, Paula! So glad you could make it. :)

Fun class! Meg showed us how to create fondant flowers and how to make a classic icing swirl on top of cupcakes. I've never dabbled in cupcake decorating before, so as a complete beginner, this class was perfect.

    From Teacher:

Thanks so much for coming, Brittney! It was great having you. :)
