Event Overview

What's missing from most art classes is the freedom to play: experimenting with new materials, making discoveries and trying every color in the box. Well, we're bringing play back to art! Throw your self-judgment out the window, and get ready to try all kinds of new mediums!

We will have several kinds of drawing tools available, including colored pencils, markers, pastels and more. Each artist will rotate from chair to chair, using whatever medium is available at that seat. It's like art and circuit training combined!

For your inspiration, there will be a live nude model giving us poses.

Bring your own paper. All drawing tools will be provided. Whether you are an experienced fine artist, a curious sketcher, or just someone who wants to try out different mediums, you are more than welcome to come play with us!

Dean studied Fine Art at Columbia College Chicago, where he earned his Bachelor Degree. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Chicago Publishers Resource Center (ChiPRC) and is its Arts Coordinator. He is a co-founder of Northside Independent Artists (NIA), which produces and curates art shows. Dean’s commissions include numerous portrait paintings, as well as postcard designs for theater companies TUTA and Darknight Theatrical Productions; flyer designs for rock band Arch Visceral Parlor and DJ Elle Madelyn; logo designs for Souls Journey Life Coaching and Athletic Souls; and illustrations for author John Wawrzaszek.
