Event Overview

Calling all curious to an evening of music AS therapy. Board-Certified Music Therapist Katie Bender leads an intentional space for a diverse community, to come together in dance and drum and song in a series of supported experiences. Over the course of an hour, you will have the opportunity to learn and explore music and sound as means to communicate, explore connection, and to learn about the therapeutic potentials of active music making!

A variety of percussion and melodic instruments will be provided, personal instruments are also welcome. If you have ever felt interested in making music but haven't known where to begin, this is the group for you! If you are a musician and want to learn about deepening the awareness of connection with others through the experience of music, this group is for you too.

No formal music experience necessary.

Katie is a board-certified clinical music therapist, committed to the intentional use of music as a vibrant and essential method of connecting people and developing insight about oneself. She currently works in behavioral health, hospice, hospitals and privately and maintains an active performance career with a number of ensembles.
