Event Overview

Nature Museum Horticulturist Seth Harper will teach you how to welcome pollinators into your city garden. Attendees will go home with three starter plants!

This is a seminar-style class. Attendees will be people interested in gardening with native plants in order to support local populations of pollinators.

Attendees will learn what to plant, and how to care for and maintain a garden to attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies.

What to Bring

Paper and pencil to take notes. Bring any questions you have about native plant selection and care.

All ages welcome

Three starter plants for each attendee to take home.

Seth Harper received his horticulture education at West Virginia University. He spent five years tending the indoor tropical rainforest at the National Aquarium in Baltimore before coming to Chicago. He currently works at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, growing everything from garden vegetables to exotic greenhouse plants.
