Event Overview

Hello soon-to-be Word Ninjas!

Join best-selling author Lindsay Currie to learn the basics of a writer's process: inspiration, brainstorming/research, creation, percolation, revision. Students will return home with a better understanding of their writing style and needs, as well as how they can apply this to school and other literary endeavors. We will investigate what it means to be a writer, and how sometimes, writing is like testing hypothesis in science – occasionally you fail, and that’s okay! We will discuss how to think like a writer, and how to gather details like a pro through examples and activities. We'll learn how to listen to our brains and turn our thoughts into words. Last but not least, we'll discuss what "constructive criticism" is and how to get past the fear of judgement from peers.

*This class serves as a good entry point for all of Lindsay's classes, and it is recommended, but not required, that students take it prior to registering for any others.*
