Event Overview
Print your feelings in day-glo pink. Using handset metal and wood type, each participant will create a set of 15 anti-valentines. We'll walk you through the process of setting type and introduce you to our collection of 19th and mid-20th-century wood and metal type. You'll design your card, choose ink and paper colors, and print your cards on our Vandercook proof press. Swap with everyone there and you’ll walk away feeling the love.
Paper and ink will be provided but feel free to bring your own jazzy paper / BYOB.

Fata Morgana Press is a print shop and craft collective on the south side of Chicago. Amy Leners, Angela Davis Fegan, and Mary Clare Butler started the studio after receiving their MFAs in Interdisciplinary Book and Paper Art from Columbia College Chicago. The studio is home to letterpress printing and bookbinding equipment as well as a small offset press used to print posters and zines.
