This class includes an introduction to the practice of meditation, with discussion to provide opportunities to reflect on how meditation and movement practices affect us and our thoughts. You'll learn the basics of meditation (both stationary and walking techniques), how to use your meditation experiences to connect with nature, and receive helpful handouts and readings to take home with you.

Joy Reese has been an instructor at the Shambhala Meditation Center for 8 years. She has been practicing peaceful abiding and mindfulness meditation for over 25 years. On the environmental side, Joy is a member of the Sierra Club, among other organizations. She enjoys nature walks, hikes, and creating art in a natural setting.
