Event Overview

Slow down and experience a low impact workout through Tai Chi with Master Jing Chao Wu. Tai Chi is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for centuries for relaxation, balance, health benefits, and it's defensive motions. Dabblers will learn basic rhythms, stances, and movements that are the building blocks for full Tai Chi forms. Breathing techniques, light stretching, meditation, and Qi Gong(Ba Duan Jin) are also incorporated into the class. Because of Tai Chi's low impact nature, those with exercise limitations may find it as a good way to incorporate activity into their routine.

Master Jing Chao Wu is recognized by the International Wudao Association as an official Modern Wushu 7th Degree Black Belt, an International First Degree Wushu Judge, and an International First Degree Wushu Coach. Master Wu moved to Chicago from China in 2009 and operates Bei Dou Kung Fu Chicago in Lincoln Park and Bridgeport-Chinatown. He is a dedicated teacher focused not only on improving student’s skills and understanding of Chinese martial arts, but also on developing the spirit.
