Event Overview
Come celebrate World Cyanotype Day with Joanna Aloysia and Kelly McKaig in our secret garden! In this workshop we will teach you the photographic process of cyanotyping. We will teach you how to mix these benign chemicals to make a photosensitive wash, sensitize the paper, how to make a photogram, and how to develop the image to get that amazing blue. After that, it’s all experimentation and hanging out in the sunshine.
This workshop will be mostly outdoors and will be a little messy, so plan for a day of playing with flowers, lightly splashing in water, and painting. We will be providing various objects to help you make a photogram: flowers, glass, feathers, leaves, paperclips, keys, safety pins, translucent fabric, lace, etc. Don't worry, we'll also keep you hydrated.

What should I bring to the event? Paper to sensitize and expose, your own lunch, and favorite objects that you would like to make an image with (it works well if if has a distinct shape or is translucent). -
