Event Overview

Time for some 'hand therapy'! Oh and meanwhile, make something cool.  If you're wanting more than a single session of Clay Play, this 4-week series will give you room to stretch out, mess up, and do it all over again.  Create a more complex project.  Get really detailed and enjoy the glazing process.  Amaze your friends and family by making personalized gifts.


This is a series over 4 weeks with the option to add extra weeks if desired. Bring a friend!


Repeats weekly (Saturdays 1-2:30 PM on Nov 14, 21, 28, Dec. 5).  Sessions 1 and 2 will be focused on construction, while 3 and 4 will provide options for glazing and finalizing projects.


Includes finishing assistance, as needed: smoothing, glazing & firing, to make sure your work looks really awesome!

What to Bring

Studio clothing (some materials stain), clayworking tools if you've got 'em. Fall 2020 - bring a small hand towel and your mask!

14 years or older

Prerequisites

Please Note: The ticket is a private session for up to TWO people.


Materials and tools provided. Projects will be ready for pick-up approximately 2 weeks after the last class, if not sooner.

Heather McQueen

Heather McQueen is an accomplished ceramic artist, working primarily in the low-fire range. Her work varies from drums and sculptural vessels to utilitarian, country-style tableware. She enjoys inspiring others through her work, from one-on-one lessons to Visiting Artist Residencies.
Heather's claywork has been published ("From Mud to Music", "500 Raku") and featured in a nationally televised promo (US Cellular). She is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and maintains an independent ceramic studio in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood.
