Event Overview

The author of "Gourmet Preserves Chez Madelaine" will share quick and easy methods of preserving the ripe flavors of summer fruits and berries. The secret is working in small quantities and adding minimal amounts of sugar. This hands-on class includes tips on reducing juices in jams, boosting pectin levels for preserves and safely sealing jars. We will prepare jam and preserves with strawberries and blueberries as well as bake up scones and muffins on which to spread the fruits of our labor.

This class will be taught by Madelaine Bullwinkel, who in 2001 was honored by the Chicago Tribune with the Good Eating Award.
