Event Overview

The yoga or meditation shawl is a wool blanket size draping garment. The shawls are often used for warmth and to create a feeling of protection. Traditionally, they are worn to help symbolically shift your mindset during your practice.  For some, they are often compared to being like portable tabernacles and temples. For others, they are mostly about the fashion. Whether the garment will be used for fashion or creating that mental shift when you engage your practice is up to you.

In this class, you will specifically learn to (1) do a basic hem for the edges, (2) install the eight snaps that allow the shawl to be worn more like a cowl and various other designs, and (3) learn various creative ways to use the snaps to find your own unique look.

Whether you use it as a blanket, for fashion, or for your practice, it's a great garment to create and own.

Check out the upcoming schedule and sign up to create your own yoga or meditation shawl.

Skill Level: Novice. Those with no sewing experience coming in will still be able to create the shawl. Basic stitching and hemming are taught and the snaps are hammer-on snaps for ease of installation and use.
