Event Overview

Too often, businesses and brands know social media is important, but have no idea where to start. This class seeks to debunk the notion that posting on Facebook classifies as a strategy and will be a hands on approach to give dabblers a foundation to create their own social strategies by learning the basic skills of branding, content strategy, and community management in the world of social media. Come to the workshop ready with a project in mind, whether its a blog, small business, or startup!

Genevieve is a creative strategist with a deep background in social media. She currently works for One Design Company, a digital experience agency in River North. In 2012 Genevieve began freelancing in social media for small businesses and in 2014, brought her expertise to One Design to build the Not Your Father's Root Beer brand. Today, Not Your Father's Root Beer is one of the fastest growing craft beers in the nation, with nearly all of it's marketing efforts spent in social media.

Genevieve offers a different approach to developing a social strategy that combines high level brand strategy with more technical content strategy to create authentic experiences online to engage a brand's community.
