Event Overview

User Experience (UX) Design is all around us. From mobile apps to websites to physical products and retail stores. UX Design is a complete and holistic experience that deals with a variety of aspects such as business, consumer, design and technology of a product, system, or experience.

This introductory class will give an overview of what UX is and is not, the various stages of a traditional design process, and identify the various roles and responsibilities of people who typically work in UX.
Learn how a product comes to market from idea to research to wireframes to final design and production. Students will get to participate in a hands-on training session using a real-world case study and develop wireframes and other deliverables.

Come prepared to learn about one of the fastest growing industries that is helping shape the world we live in!

David Mierke is a Senior User Experience Researcher at ÄKTA, a digital user experience product design and development consultancy based in downtown Chicago. Before coming to Chicago, David worked as a researcher and designer at a product innovation company based in LA as well as a design and branding firm in NYC. His primary focus is on uncovering latent user needs to help executives gain a clearer understanding of strategic business goals and develop strategic and tactical actions for projects.
