Event Overview

Learn Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint 2013 from the comfort of your home or office. This class is an online course that meets once per week for 3 weeks with a LIVE instructor. Class #1 covers Excel. Go beyond data entry and learn to create and work with formulas and charts and how to automate repetitive tasks using macros. Class #2 covers Word. Learn the basics of creating a document, adding images, headers, footers, tables. Included in this session is how to import data from Excel to create mail merges. Class #3 covers PowerPoint. Learn the basics of designing an informative presentation. Learn about styling, layouts, inserting tables and graphs from Excel.

Class #1: March 30 / 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Class #2: April 6 / 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Class #3: April 13/ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This live online course is similar to a face-to-face course. Students will be able to talk with instructor. Students may use chat, telephone, and/or their computer's mic and speakers. Exercises will be distributed through a class web site where students can easily download the files that will be used. Students will be able to see the instructor's computer screen as she demonstrates the exercises. The instructor will be able to see students' screens as they work and offer guidance. (Students will have to download free screen-sharing software)

What to Bring

Prior to class Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint should be installed on computer; as well as free screen sharing software from freeconferencecall.com. Also needed are Internet connection and a phone or computer mic and speakers to hear the teacher.

Prerequisites

Each class will have exercises for students to use during class time which will be downloaded from the class web page. Before taking this class students should feel comfortable downloading and uploading files from computers and the Internet. They should know how to save downloaded files onto their computers. Also handouts, besides being in Word, Excel and PowerPoint formats, may also be pdfs. Students will need the free Adobe Reader installed on their computer in order to open and read pdf files.

Freeconferencecall.com will be used to conduct this class. In order for you to see the instructor's screen during class and for her to see yours please go to the homepage of freeconferencecall.com, scroll to the page's footer (bottom) and click on "Get Desktop App" which is free screen sharing software you will need to participate in the class.

What's Provided

Prior to class instructor will send via email student login information for attending class, and instructions and link for downloading free screen sharing software.
