Event Overview

Japanese stab binding, also known as Fukuro Toji (bound-pocket books), is an artist's bookmaking technique that employs a simple, classic sewing process to make a soft cover album.  Participants in this class will learn paper folding, tearing, and sewing techniques using traditional bookbinders tools such as an bone folder and awl.  Each participant will leave class with at least 2 sewn albums, showcasing different stitching patterns.  Participants are invited to bring their own decorative paper (at least 6"x 12") to personalize their covers.
