Event Overview

Learn to make Poland's celebrated potato and onion dumplings while mastering a few phrases in Polish.

Working with your teacher to prepare the dough, fillings and fry the dumplings in butter and onions, students will learn about the history of the pierogis, how, when and where they are traditionally served and why they have become a quintessential Chicago dish.

Students will enjoy their delicious dumplings, learn basic greetings and cooking terms in Polish and receive a recipe to make their own pierogis at home.

There will be hands on cooking and dough rolling involved, so wear appropriate clothes or bring an apron!

Fun, informative, hands on experience! We will be enjoying Pierogis at our home starting -now! Our instructors made this class interesting - and they were so helpful.

This was hosted by my old language school, Multilingual Chicago. I loved the class and the teachers! The pierogi turned out fabulous and even though I've made homemade pierogi before, I still learned what mine were missing (pssh: cream cheese!) I would definitely take another ethnic cooking class here! The entire organization promotes cultural exchange through language, food and activity and that's something I completely support. And I love food :-)

This class was fun and the teachers were great! The class definitely would have been more enjoyable had there been less people, but I think the instructors realized that and will make adjustments next time. I'm just sad I lost the recipe on my way home! :(

I enjoyed the class and feel like I can make pierogis on my very own.
However, felt the class size should have been capped at a smaller number.
With 24 in attendance, we were smashed in there, 4 to a table, and there were not enough materials for everyone to be hands-on.

This class was so much fun. My party had an amazing time. It was laid back but still structured well and informative.

A good intro to making both sweet and savory pierogi. The instructors were knowledgeable and available to answer any questions during class. I felt that this class could've benefitted from either a smaller class size or a bigger cooking area.
