Event Overview

Just in time for your spring planting! Create custom garden markers out of ceramic clay. Personalize your markers just the way you want them. The world is your oyster or garden when it comes to the customization of your markers. Relax and have fun - your first glass of wine is on the house!

In this class you will be taking a slab of ceramic clay and cutting out 5 stakes. You will learn to stamp, embellish, and refine the clay to make beautiful markers. After you have created your masterpieces we will let them dry. Once the clay is dry we will fire it into bisque. This process take about a week.

Once the stakes are fired it will be time to glaze them! You are welcome to come back at your own time to glaze the markers. We will fire the stakes and in about a week you will be able to use them in the garden or in your favorite pots!

This class is so rewarding because you create them from the raw earth! There will be no other markers like yours. You will walk away with a great understanding of the process it takes to go from ceramic clay all the way to a beautiful piece of art.

Playing with clay is really fun and creative. We were supposed to make garden markers but actually we could make anything we wanted with the clay. How totally awesome is that? Considering that you got to do a multi step process - create with the clay, then go back and paint it. It's fun that never ends. Fabulous studio space, can't wait for more hands on clay work and the glass fusing is amazing there too.
