"What pen did that person just use?" "How the heck did she just make that 'P' look so dang beautiful?!" "I want to learn calligraphy, but I don't even know where to start." Trust me, I've been there. I taught myself modern calligraphy when I got engaged to my husband in 2015 and I had no idea what I was doing. Once I learned, I knew other people were probably in the same boat I was thus started my foray into teaching modern calligraphy.

In my workshop, you will learn the proper technique for brush calligraphy and be provided with some of my favorite materials to get you started.

Here's what's provided:

A personalized notebook

Practice sheets (created by yours truly)

Tracing paper

My favorite brush pens (3 different ones so you can decide what works best for you)

Pencils for practicing (one of the best tools to help you with the proper technique)

Once you leave my class, you will have the tools, knowledge and skills you need to begin your calligraphy journey!

Please feel free to BYOB--sometimes it actually helps with a steady hand ;).

Hi, I'm Malory. I got engaged about a year ago and decided I was going to create my own Save the Dates in my own calligraphy. Thus started my obsession with everything hand lettering. I am self-taught and after seeing the calligraphy craze at Target recently (it's literally on everything they have for sale), I thought, why not spread the knowledge so people can do this themselves!

In my non-calligraphy life, I am an advertising professional and photographer.

Loved this intro to modern calligraphy! Mallory was authentic and so helpful. I tried traditional calligraphy many years ago and this is so much more user friendly and fun! If you have an interest this is a great place to start.

Malory was a great guide. She made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and I am excited to continue practicing. She sets you up with the tools for success to practice brush calligraphy. I would highly recommend this class!

Mallory did a fantastic job teaching this class! I have done more formal calligraphy in the past and have always struggled with the more whimsical side of modern calligraphy. Mallory facilitated a great environment with practice sheets for us to work on and explained the touch that we needed to use to really nail the look :) She answered everyones questions with ease and gave a lot of great advice and feedback. Would most definitely recommend this class to anyone interested in calligraphy at any level!

I've been interested in lettering since I was a young kid. My brother and sister paid for this class experience for my birthday. It was really fun to get the opportunity to spend time nurturing my creative side and learning how to do brush calligraphy. I still have lots of practice to do before I will be proficient at it, but now I have the tools to work with in order to hone my skills.

Loved this class--great introduction to short-cut you into practicing. Gives you the paper, practice sheets and pens you need, without having to figure all that out yourself. Bring wine---the instructor says it *does* improve your skill (contrary to what I'd expect!)

This was a really great class! I learned a lot, including how much time and practice brush calligraphy takes to get comfortable and decent! The teacher provided top notch supplies that we could take home with us to continue our practice. I really appreciated taking this class and have been enjoying continual practice at home!

Malory was great, the space was awesome and the take away materials were the best. Malory was very un-intimidating and so helpful. I'm practicing a little bit every day and I can't wait until it's good enough to start using on cards and envelopes!
