Event Overview
Open Office is a free software program similar to Microsoft Word. I have used it to write two books that I published on Amazon, and I am in the process of writing my third.
I have found Open Office to be great tool for my word processing needs. However, I had a big learning curve on how to properly use it for writing books that I can publish online.
In this course, I will teach you what I learned through trial and error, so that you can easily write your own book.
Here are some topics that well be taught:
- How to format
- How and when to use page breaks
- How to position photos
- How to create chapters
- How to put in footnotes and endnotes
- How to create the table of contents
- and so much more
Open Office is a fantastic software program, especially if you know how to get the most out of it.
I will demonstrate the above features on my computer and have handouts for you to take home, so you can learn without bringing your own computer. However, if you do have a laptop that has Micrsoft Word of Open Office, feel free to bring it so you can have hands on experience.
What to Bring
If you have a laptop with either Open Office or Microsoft Word, feel free to bring it for hands on work.
