Event Overview

Dabblers, join me in making a unique botanical masterpiece, your own living vertical garden you can hang in your office or home.

Did you know air plants are related to pineapples? In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn more fun facts about the popular Tillandsia (air plant). You’ll learn how to care for these remarkable plants (they need a little more love than just air alone!) and receive step-by-step guidance to create a vertical air plant garden to take home. The vertical garden mounted on cork bark, your own little slice of paradise, is eye-catching and will give you a little taste of sunshine everyday even as we head into Fall.

This is a great class for anyone who wants to get started with gardening even if they have no outdoor space, or a more seasoned gardener interested in working vertically.

This class will be held at a local gastropub, with tasty food and drinks available for purchase. All ages welcome, but must be over 21 to drink.

Leelee is a botanical artist and the owner of Leelee's Garden. She became a master gardener in 2013 and has a background in gardening, landscape design and floral design. In the last 2 years since starting her business, Leelee has taught over 100 workshops, from 2-250 students all around the country. Leelee is passionate about all things plants and flowers (she's currently working on creating her own indoor jungle apartment), especially creating unique designs that bring the outdoors in, and helping guests create living works of art themselves through workshops and private events.

LeeLee's class was small which was perfect as she was able to provide enough attention to each student. It was so much fun and we met great people over a lovely glass of wine! I thought my boyfriend was going to hate it but he got really into it and now both of our air plant holders are hanging up on our wall and look awesome!

Class was really helpful for learning about air plants - both what to do with them creatively and how to take care of them for long-term maintenance. Lots of supplies to choose from in a fun space. Teacher was available throughout for advice and assistance.

The class was absolutely wonderful. Leelee made it very easy and brought in a ton of different plants and moss to choose from. If you're looking to have fun and create something beautiful, I highly recommend this class.

The instructor was very welcoming and helpful and the class was a lot of fun. You left with a lovely and unique piece of wall art I would recommend this class to anyone interested in air plants and would like a nice introduction to them.

This class was a lot of fun, and a great way to spend a couple hours on a Saturday afternoon. Leeann was really friendly and had great suggestions. The class was well organized and Leeann explained really well both the care for the plants and how to make a hanging garden with the fantastic array of materials she provided. She really wanted everyone to walk out of the class with a work of living art that they were proud of.

This was definitely something outside my comfort zone and I'm glad I went out out on a limb and attended.

Enjoyed a class making a Vertical Air Plant Garden. I arrived solo and Leann facilitated introductions, which was really nice (and something I haven't experienced in other classes). She had plenty of cork bark, air plants, and moss to choose from, and was helpful in suggesting how to place things without being overly pushy. I was convinced the glue wasn't going to hold my air plants because it seemed to take forever to adhere, but it did, as did everyone else's. If you're anything like me, you'll probably be jealous of your neighbor's creation, but I really love my finished project. Overall, great class, great value, great teacher, good location (it changes) and good amount of time allotted for this project.

The class was amazing! Very fun and entertaining. The material was explained well and was easy to follow. Our air plant arrangements looked great. The teacher was super nice and very knowledgeable on the material. Very friendly, easy going and made the class very enjoyable. Very reasonbly priced and would recommend to all my friends.

Leann gave use the perfect mix of great information and time to get creative and have fun with the project. I felt like I left the class learning a lot about the plants we were working with and very proud of my cool vertical garden. I took 2 friends with me to the class and we had a fantastic and memorable girls night out. I will definitely be back for another class!
