Event Overview
Old school printing with new school tools. Come and experience the joys of letterpress printing. In this workshop you will learn the quick basics of modern-day letterpress; designing and printing your own broadsides and greeting cards using our library of photo-polymer plates. You will experience the rush of pulling prints off a flat-bed Vandercook Press in this demo-style workshop. We will spend the day learning to mix ink, set the press, and print your very own broadside and learning about the history of printmaking and where it has lead the art world to today.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
As a mixed media artist, proprietor Leah Jachimowicz is inspired by the interplay of different media and techniques. Her love of all things creative began at an early age (with her collection of rubber stamps, glitter vials, and fine pencils), and she found her calling in college when she discovered printmaking.
The art of printmaking in this digital age is challenging: from the maintenance of the equipment, to the mechanics, to finding ways to make unique prints with new media. In her printmaking, Leah incorporates elements of drawing, painting, photography, and collage to create a format for every one of her projects.
