Event Overview

Join us for an exploration in choosing a path of self love. Participants will be led through thoughtful group and solo work by yogi, artist, and conscious communication facilitator Lyndsey Scott and Blissoma founder Julie Longyear to discover qualities about themselves they would like to celebrate and strengthen.

This exploration will then flow into the creation of a piece of artwork centered around a chosen affirmation. Materials, inspiration sources, and assistance for creation of this very personal art will be provided. The affirmation artwork can then be taken home to enhance the participant's daily journeys.

New! This class is open to ages 12 and up and would make an ideal parent-teen date.

The teen years are a sensitive and searching time, making focused reflection and purposeful action a timely experience. Lyndsey has experience honoring all ages, and a fun, warm spirit to welcome young and old into a better relationship with self. Her own path has led her through challenging self dialogue, adventures, and ultimately to a practice of radical self-love.

Join us for this unique workshop in recognizing what makes each of us wonderful.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Lyndsey Scott is an avid artist inspired by community, people, and connection. Her website www.seehere.info documents her adventures in teaching, playing, creating, and adding color and growth in her home town of Rantoul, IL, in St. Louis, MO and on spirited travels around the country. Lyndsey takes notes from Rumi, Bucky, rivers, and kids. Expect sensitive, straightforward, authentic, playful instruction that leads you to the heart of your own self-guidance: ever discovering the present moment, in -your- skin! Her passion for yoga & meditation began in 2006 in the wake of some big life Uh-Ohs — she discovered that, amidst the chaos, she could come home to the still well of wisdom in the body, and find peace through listening in. She trained in gentle Hatha practice at Kripalu in 2012, earning her 200-hr certification. Off the mat, Lyndsey continues the celebration of existence in various media — song-weaving, visual art, gardening, and facilitating Restorative Circles. Trained as a painter (UI BFA 2002), community artist (CAT STL 2003), and permaculturist (PDC PA 2013), she loves learning to deejay the social shapes and spiritual practices that best support enjoyable, sustainable societal transformation.
