Have you ever wondered what it meant to “knit 1, purl 2”? A portable craft that can go with you almost anywhere, knitting is an ancient art that is enjoying modern popularity. In this workshop participants will learn how to knit while also engaging in creative reuse by using upcycled fabric strips to begin knitting a one-of-a-kind bath mat. With over a decade of knitting experience, Cristina Cousins will instruct participants how to start a project (cast-on), make a knit stitch, and how to end a project (bind-off). Other common knitting terms will be discussed. Participants will also leave with some valuable knowledge of where to find free online resources to help their knitting skills progress after the workshop is over. Fabric and needles will be provided.
