Just because summer's ending doesn't mean you have to bid farewell to the quintessential flavors of warm weather. Got an abundance of watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, or some unusual heirloom melon varieties? We'll focus on ways to preserve these great summer flavors and stretch them into the winter months. You'll learn to make:
Watermelon Rind Pickles and Relish
Melon Sorbet
Cantaloupe Jam
Melon Shurb and drink recipes
Herbed Melon Soda Syrups
We'll sample the dishes during class while we discuss the cooking techniques and food safety tips to make your preserved goods last.
What to Bring
Bring an 8-ounce jar and take home some cantaloupe jam
