Discover all the different materials around your home that can be transformed into working yarn! Suzanne, community crafter, will demonstrate how to harvest yarn from a felted thrift store sweater, make plarn from plastic shopping bags, create tyarn from t-shirts, and how VHS tape can be used as a crafting fiber. The class will cover how to best cut fabric and join strips to make a working knit or crochet fiber for future upcycled projects! Each participant will leave class with a ball of plarn, a ball of tyarn and a booklet of simple knit and crochet patterns using the fibers. Be inspired to rethink and repurpose items buried deep in your closet or junk drawer!
