Classic roasted chicken...the king of comfort food. This class will teach you how to make a perfect roast chicken, but will also show you what can be done with the bird after you're full. Want chicken soup, chicken stock, tacos, chili or even chicken pot pie? Darin the Chef will show you the way!
This class is perfect for students and young people who may be living on their own for the first time and need to learn core cooking skills; it's also perfect for anyone who loves good food and wants to learn an indispensable skill! At the end of the class you will know how to choose a bird, how to season & prepare it for roasting, how to carve it and what to do with the leftovers.
So that means we will be eating our work (yay tasting!), and discussing the merits of roasting a bird yourself, rather than buying a rotisserie chicken that's been sitting under a heat lamp for 3-4 hours. Darin will provide an instructional sheet & recipe ideas as well. This class is BYOB; the chef recommends white wine or lighter beers.

Darin Wike is a personal chef in Austin, TX. He is a culinary school graduate with over 15 years experience in the restaurant industry, and has roasted A LOT of chickens in his time.
