MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Hi Everyone,

My name is Stephanie, and I’m excited to teach workshops through Dabble on how to deal with various aspects of stress and anxiety so that you can keep sane and kick butt! One might call this an area of budding expertise for me. I am one semester shy of becoming a doctor in clinical psychology (cue happy dance), and have received specialized intensive clinical training in anxiety and stress management AND in the development, facilitation, and evaluation of workshops on this topic. It is a passion of mine, which is why I’m looking forward to reaching out to the general public through Dabble!

This isn’t my first rodeo, I helped to run the Stress Management Clinic at Northwestern University in Chicago by giving five weekly workshops on mindfulness meditation for a year. The year before that, I ran several daily workshops on anxiety reduction in the Anxiety & OCD unit of a behavioral health hospital in the Chicago suburbs while also providing intensive therapy for patients dealing with severe anxiety. And before that, I gave monthly workshop seminars to parents battling addiction at a community health center, and to female inmates at Chicago’s D.O.C. Before coming out to Baltimore, I was invited to design and present a two-day workshop on stress reduction and mindfulness for a teen mentor program, part of the Chicago Botanic Garden organization. I currently work full time at Johns Hopkins University in fulfillment of my doctoral internship, and regularly design and present workshops across campus on topics related to stress management.

Things like enjoying delicious food (these east coast oysters, I’m telling ya), exploring the city, making friends, traveling, learning new languages (I speak 4 at the moment), and desperately wanting to become a better photographer, keep me sane and occupy my life when I’m not living it up a la grad school.

I hope to see you in one of my future workshops! Questions are always welcomed, as well as recommendations for any must-see and must-do’s in Baltimore or the surrounding area!
