Event Overview
Whether you own or rent a home, it will need maintenance at some point. Perhaps you just want to be able to build shelves for your things, or fix your stuff when it breaks.
This class is specifically tailored for the generation who learned to use computers from a young age but mostly skipped out on tools, lumber and getting their hands dirty. We'll cover basic carpentry skills so that you can learn the best ways to cut different types of wood and attach them together. We'll also cover the most commonly needed plumbing and electrical skills and any other issues that participants want to cover.
You'll leave feeling more confident starting (and finishing!) basic projects as well as having the skills to seek out resources to help you accomplish more significant projects. You will be comfortable using common power and hand tools and be able to identify and shop for common building materials.
