Welcome to the most thoughtful, intelligent fun & play you will ever know: improvisation.
SEPT 26th & 27th, 6-9pm [a two-night series!]
Remember playing as a child? Studies have proven that children have a high sense of play until about age 6, when self-judgment and critique set in. Improvisational and collaborative games help us untether the negative facets of adult life that hinder our creativity. Incredible teachers will lead you through a light-hearted and life-skills rich 2 night workshop.
Want to try it but unsure of your skills? We welcome everyone. This is class for those who classify themselves as non-improvisers looking to cultivate presence and joy in their every day lives. Open to all, this class is part practical application of exercises and part bohemian methodology of this very popular art form. Get better at work, home, and creative flow. Say “yes, and” to life and try improv with other folks, with no pressure to be a performer.

Hosted by Tara DeFrancisco & Rance Rizzutto, world-renowned improvisation leaders - at the new dedicated home in downtown Columbus, The Nest Theatre! Located at 15 W. Cherry in the heart of downtown Columbus, its centralized location from all highways makes it a perfect clubhouse for improvisers and audiences, both centrally located and suburban fans alike.
The Nest houses CBus Improv Theatre (medium & longform, popularized by iO Chicago), ComedySportz Columbus (the worldwide league of shortform, popularized by Whose Line?), scripted sketch comedy shows (popularized by the Second City of Toronto & Chicago), as well as world-famous improvised musical duo, HERE the Musical. Tara & Rance are worldwide performers and teachers of improvisation. As lauded vets of this art form, both owners of The Nest are alum ensemble members of ComedySportz Chicago, The Second City, and iO Chicago. They design curriculum for schools and workplaces, do commercial work and television, and are lucky enough to be known for HERE the Musical (a two person improvised musical play) which has toured 15 countries and 45 cities so far.
Known as playful, intelligent, encouraging, insightful instructors around the globe, they now split time between Columbus and Chicago, spreading the joy to Tara's hometown.
