Event Overview

      Have you ever had the idea of knitting gifts for your loved ones for the holidays ? In this class series you will make a handmade scarf, cowl and hat all in time for the holidays. Yes ! That is 3 completely handmade gift items plus the tools to make them ! 

     You may choose to bring your own yarn and needles or you can choose to purchase yarn and needles from the teacher. If you choose to use your own materials please bring two size 13 knitting needles and corresponding yarn. 

    The class is suited for absolute beginners  or intermediate students in need of brushing up their skills in time for the holidays. 

Week #1 (12/3 )  - scarf

Learn the two foundational stitches in knitting. Learn how to alternate these stitches to create knitted scarfs with a variety of textures suitable for a wide range  of styles.

Week # 2 (12/10)  - cowl

 We will learn circular knitting and explore the various garment  types that use this technique. The typical student will be able to make a cowl in no more than 3 hours.  

Week #3 (12/17) - hat

  We will learn shaping techniques used in garment making to make a simple knit watch cap or a slouchy hat.  With the skills learned in  this class you will be able to make a hat in less than 3 hours.
