Event Overview

Come play with 2000-degree molten glass -- safely, of course :) -- and learn how to turn it into beautiful works of art!

After a quick tour of the studio, we'll dive right in. You'll learn how to gather glass from the furnace, add color on the marvering table, shape the glass using tools such as jacks and wood blocks, and safely transfer your piece from rod to the annealing oven to cool. By the end of the class, you will have made two pieces -- paperweight, ornament, and/or cup -- to take home and show off to your friends!

Depending on the number of students, the class will run between two and three hours.

Ages 12+. Minors, please bring a parent or guardian.

What to Bring

Please wear long pants and closed-toed shoes (e.g., sneakers).

Very interesting teacher. I felt very knowledgeable and always kept us safe even when we were not listening to what he was telling us. Learned a lot and enjoyed the time with my mother in the class.

The teacher was drinking beer and alcoholic beverages the entire class and while he was knowledgeable it made me very nervous. He also arrived late with a young child approximately 8 years old with him. Other guests that arrived not in the class with more alcoholic beverages to drink. Class also ran so long after the time allotted that I had to leave before being able to participate in the last piece. The studio was extremely hot.
