Event Overview

Intro: Everyone has that one thing that they feel they are the ULTIMATE expert on: cooking, getting dressed every day, reading and reviewing book, collecting vinyl records - and darn it, it's only right that people learn from them! That's all you need to start a blog - one good idea, a web platform, and a keyboard to dash your thoughts on to.

What will be learned: I am going to teach how to get the momentum one needs to really make their blog take shape: ways to develop topics, how to take worthwhile photos (and how to edit them with a professional eye), how to write without the help of an editor, whether WordPress or Blogger or Tumblr is best, and, most importantly, how to attract an audience that keeps coming back. The possibilities are endless when you give yourself the platform to be heard - you could find your way into a new job, the opportunity to try new products and attend events, or just find out that you really like to write and enjoy cultivating that passion.

Structure: classroom/lecture style, with students bringing their laptops and taking notes (since it's a blogging basics class where computers are essential.
