Event Overview

I'm a visual artist, originally a painter. As I started having more trouble with the use of my hands I discovered collage as a tool to create.  With collage you don't have to worry about the technical skills involved in traditional art. By working with images and text that are already produced for you, you will have a chance to fully focus on the creative process itself. I will show you step by step how to portray a complex message or feeling. I'm passionate about opening up the opportunity to create to everyone in this world! Half of the tuition for this class will be donated to Artists First. Artists First is a non-profit open art studio that fosters the growth of adults with disabilities through creative self-expression.This class is entitled "art is for everyone" because I would like to share a bit about my experience while working in this studio, as well as the ways I've started to adapt my art tools to help people with physical disabilities. I will show you how every barrier towards the act of creation can be turned into your inspiration!

What's Provided

Collage Items: upcycled magazines,books, and paper scraps, cardstock, scissors, and glue Optional: BYO paper inspiration, magazine stacks, photos, wooden boxes, lighters, or anything else you want to try and collage! We will be using mod podge.
