ABOUT NINA

Nina Marie Graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a bachelor's of science in fashion: textile & clothing in business with emphasis in sustainability and a duel minor of marketing and business. She has been into fashion design, clothing upcycling, thrift shopping, and sewing since she was a little girl but it wasn’t until she became aware of our planets global climate change and mass extinction when she knew that there was an important direction that the fashion industry needed to take in order to heal our planet’s detrimental conditions. Nina puts all that she knows about fashion and sustainability to use as the owner of her own 100% sustainable clothing and jewelry company called Gracious Creation. Nina also offers fashion sustainability workshops that aim to bring awareness to the dire conditions of our earth, as well as show how the fashion industry and our industrialized society is contributing to many of the harmful conditions of our earth, get people thinking outside the box towards personal fashion and expression, help others overcome resistance towards second-hand clothing shopping, and also offer ideas and inspiration for anyone to start down a path in sustainable fashion. In this hands on workshop not only will you learn about sustainable fashion but you will also be invited to bring any clothing that needs repairs or items you have ideas about repurposing but don’t know where to start and Nina will walk you through how to repair and alter all of your items! Together we will pave a more sustainable way of living! If you would like to get in touch with Nina and her journey with sustainability you can follow her on Instagram @earth.oriented or check out her sustainable clothing company, Gracious Creation, on Facebook.
