Come create your own one-of-a-kind jewelry piece crafted from materials you discover! Learn how to think like an artist and transform vintage and found materials into accessories that will be uniquely yours. We will meet for breakfast/coffees at The Mud House at 7:30 am October 11th so I can show you samples of my work, what to look out for, how to shop smart, what to avoid, and we will travel over to the Swap Meet together at 8:15 am.
St. Louis Swap Meet is essentially a big outdoor flea market where multiple vendors bring secondhand treasures all in one place for us to shop, so bring cash. You will also be given a handout with all of my best local sourcing outlets and tips to shop for any additional materials before our second session “Fabricate Friday” at Melt on Cherokee from 6-9pm on October 16th, (5 days later) for dinner/waffles & drinks in which we will all bring our personally gathered materials, and I will bring multiple sets of pliers and other tools for everyone to use. I will be crafting it up with you and providing customized design assistance and technical instruction according to the needs of your project or for future ones.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
Mary Galofré is a St. Louis native and lifelong upcycling artist extraordinaire with a BFA in Sculpture from Washington University in St.Louis. She began her found object creation adventures at just seven years old, after discovering a lone earring in her sister’s trash can which she envisioned as a beautiful pendant. This led to an ecologically friendly, thrifty, and happy future full of dumpster dives and secondhand sourcing trips to avoid the purchase of new materials as much as possible. Mary has sold jewelry, handbags, clothing, and artwork to numerous individuals and boutiques over the years, and currently makes custom jewelry, clothing, hook racks, jewelry racks, and furniture from salvaged materials in her business Sanctified Studios. She is honored to be sharing her trade secrets with you in her 2015 Dabble debut with this unique adventure series.
