Event Overview

This class is for the person starting a job in the optical field, working for an eye doctor or optical company. Discussed will be the basics of ophthalmic optics, reading eyeglass prescriptions and transposing them, the basics of frames and frame adjustment, insertion and removal of lenses in frames, use of optical tools and supplies, basic anatomy of the eye and basics of the entire visual system.
This course would benefit those who are just beginning their career in optics, or those who want a refresher. This would also appeal to Doctors who have small staffs and want some professional training for them.
This is part one of a series of three, Basic, Intermediate, and advanced. If we get a good turn out with part one, we can plan to go forward with part two.
