Ever wonder what goes into shooting a live performance? Now you can find out.
We'll cover the technical aspects of shooting live music as well as other topics such as:
- Equipment considerations
- Shooting in low light
- Post production
- The "Three Songs, No Flash" rule
- Concert photography etiquette
- Gaining access to shows and artists
After a primer on these subjects, we'll then turn you loose to photograph a live artist in an actual music club! A brief review of your images will follow.
What to Bring
DSLR camera and lens(es), laptop and software if they wish to process images for review
Minimum age
All ages welcome
Prerequisites
Students should be comfortable shooting with a DSLR camera in RAW mode. They should also know how to change settings such as ISO and how to switch between shooting modes (Aperture-priority, Shutter-priority, Manual, etc.)
