10 Have Dabbled
Food & Drink
Pickles are all the rage right now... right?! Well, if you enjoy the sweet and salty bite pickles bring to the table, and want to learn more about the tangy treats, then this class is for you!
We will cover the basics of pickling, including historical uses, scientific methods and health benefits of pickles. This discussion will be followed by a tasting (duh) of various types of homemade pickles - these on the other hand are not so basic! Try chai pickled grapes, soy pickles garlic, bourbon pickled jalapenos and a few other surprises!
It will be held at Urban Chestnut in the Grove which provides the opportunity for perfect beer and snack pairings if interested (not included in class price).
All attendees will take a jar of pickles home with them!
A wise man once said, “People are like pickles - some are sour, some are sweet, and some leave a bad taste in your mouth.” We invite all sweet and interested people to come to this class...no sours please!
This will be fun and informative...and of course, tasty!
Everyone will leave the class with a better understanding of the science behind pickles, more confidence in pickling, and many new ideas for flavor profiles and usage of pickles :)
Pen and paper, open minds, and an appetite!
All ages welcome
Tasting samples, jar of pickles for each student (variety, no guarantee who will get what)

Great class. We tasted a variety of items the instructor brought to class. There was a great handout with recipes to try. Fun class.

I really enjoyed this class. I had no idea pickling was so easy! I thought it was well taught and went over additional information that was quite interesting. I enjoyed the tasting as well, because they were all items that I had never tried before. When I thought of pickling, I just considered typical pickles from cucumbers, but here I was able to try things I never thought of and that was really cool. I really think that I'll have no issue pickling at home, which is the whole point. I would recommend this class!
