Event Overview
Using a simple pattern, and with hands on instruction, you can make this delightful rag doll. She would make a great gift, or look beautiful sitting on a shelf. Ellen will provide all of your materials, sewing machines, and help along the way. Sewing skills are not required. After the doll is finished, you will dress her using vintage repurposed fabrics. You will surprise yourself when you leave with a 14" hand crafted doll. Want to have a fun night just with friends? With a minimum of four, you can have a private class. And whether it's just you or with your nearest and dearest, feel free to bring your own refreshments and snacks.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
I am an artist with a background in set and lighting design. After graduating from The Theatre School at DePaul University, I worked in Chicago as a scenic artist for several years. I relocated to Springfield, MO, where I worked as the scenic artist at Missouri State University and enjoyed a slower paced life which allowed me to concentrate on my own work. Over the years in Springfield, I had many gallery exhibitions, helped organize a small theater company, and was the director of the Springfield Program for Public Art. I moved back to St. Louis in 2010 and concentrated on printmaking and freelance illustration and design. I am thrilled to be operating out of the Novel Neighbor, and have returned my focus to my own work and finding ways to share my love of making things.
