Event Overview

The mind is the most overworked and abused muscle in the human body. In today's world, the mental demands are endless and more exacting than ever. Our minds are programmed to never stop producing more thoughts, but it doesn't have to be this way. Meditation and yoga provides a positive outlet. The primary focus of meditation and yoga is to relax all muscles in the human body, including the mind. It distracts the mind through movement and alternative thinking patterns which allows it to connect to body and spirit. This creates balance in our lives, giving us a solid foundation on which to center the events and thoughts of our daily lives. The typical class will begin with relaxation techniques and creating a positive space for your mind to rest and be at peace, focusing on releasing unwanted behaviors, thoughts and/or emotions from our psyches. Centering on creating positive behaviors, thoughts, and emotions. We will then center the mind, allowing it to rest and recharge its batteries. This will be your foundation and serve to strengthen your core. We will begin with simple poses, being mindful of movement. You will learn how to listen to your body and maintain correct muscle placement. This is the core fundamental of yoga. We will introduce deep breathing and maintaining it as needed throughout the stretches. We will take our time moving in fluidity through each pose We will close with a brief meditation.
