Intro to User Experience (UX) Design
6 Have Dabbled
Business & Technology
User experience design, also known as UX design, is a framework and process that focuses on (1) identifying people's goals, needs, joys, and frustrations, and (2) developing approaches to best respond to those goals, needs, joys, and frustrations. UX design is centered on making sure that people have the best possible experiences with a given product or service, whether it's an app, a website, the checkout process at a grocery store, or something in between.
This is an introductory class on why UX design matters and how it applies to virtually any kind of project. UX design is a valuable framework for nonprofits, businesses, educators, and individual entrepreneurs alike. We'll cover research, strategy, ideation, rapid prototyping, testing and iterating, and launching -- and will discuss best practices for making UX work in even the leanest scenarios.
Come learn about how UX can level up your work, wherever you are.
All ages welcome
I'll provide handouts and other materials for activities.

I really enjoyed this class. I had previously studied Human-Centered Design and wondered how it was different from UX. Erika did a great job of describing the differences between the disciplines and educating us on UX. She included interactive exercises in the class to help us understand the principles and shared her slides to help reinforce our learning. Best of all, she ended the class with a Q&A session where she shared her experiences working in the UX space. I highly recommend this for anyone who has been curious about what UX has to offer.

The teacher was a young professional who came prepared, patient, thoughtful and knew their area of expertise. Great starter class. two hours went by pretty quick. it was her first glass so she was a little rushed but I felt good about the class and the content we covered. There were a few exercises but nothing demanding lots of content and resources

Great intro class! Got an overview and a step by step through the Ux process, as well as doing some activities to better understand the concepts.
