Event Overview
This is a two hour workshop. It introduces the beginner "fiber artist" to the concept of wet felting.
Beginner felting students complete 1-2 wet-felted objects. These objects may include wet-felted decorative soaps, desk ornaments, or paper weights.
In this hands-on workshop students will learn to work and mold wool around a 3 dimensional object.
This course includes instruction on the physical composition of wool, the process of "wool to felt" using water and friction, and review of other wool felting processes that includes a hands-on demonstration.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
Karen started working with wool and felt at J.C. Campbell Folk School, near Asheville, North Carolina. Along with her sisters, she started Guilded Crafts to bring the folk school crafts to her home town of Fenton, Missouri. Karen also teaches comprehensive courses in carding, cleaning, and spinning wool.
