MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Lisa Fulk is grew up in Florida and graduated from New College of Florida. She started canning as a way to save money and have high quality food on hand for her family. After experimenting with jams, she moved on to pickles and salsas before building up the courage to pressure can tomatoes. She has since become an avid canner and is a Cornell certified Master Food Preserver. She started her company, Sunshine Canning, in the hopes of passing on her knowledge to the local community and teaches both private and public classes. Lisa knows that canning can be intimidating, but she makes sure to fully explain the safety concerns and different preserving techniques so that students get a full understanding of how to safely preserve food at home.
